👍 [Beginner Tips]Record Mood DS017 (part 3)

Now we can make our little cabinet.

First coat.

Because of the kits age, the wood pieces are extra splintery. I’ve been cutting the tabs with an Exacto knife. It works best for me to use a slicing motion instead of pressing straight down. This helps avoid cutting into the piece itself.

Tiny stool. The top half was premade, all I had to do was make the legs. I took time to get them all straight. I’m pretty happy with it.

Yay good progress! I love how the cushion is pre-made lol bc I’ll be cursing while making it!

You’re like a mini carpenter in this kit. I didn’t know you have to paint the furnishings on this one. Looks fun.

It really feels like that. It is the most satisfying experience.

I usually paint first, then glue them together

Hmm..I didn’t even think of that. I probably should have done that. It was pretty fun to paint the whole thing at once. It reminded me of painting in real life.

I believe this photo is only the first coat so it is not as blotchy.

What a lovely kit. Did you have to cut the legs shorter? The original legs seem much longer.

Yes. You cut them. They show you specifically where to cut. Then you have to file them so they sit at an angle.

This is going to be a really cool kit when finished. I also use the Sandpaper on the edges to get rid of the little splinters

That is nice. I love those techniques
