👍 [Beginner Tips]My very first build

So, I’ve never heard of Robotime, ROKR or any of this before yet I just completed my very first build. How? Thanks to my friend @Profile - Liset - Robotime Community her great ideas :).

She convinced me to try and build my very first ROKR set and so I did. Dedicated as I was knowing it would take me evenings and evenings of my time because of the hectic life I started the AK-47 Assault Rifle build as a decoration for our game room.

As a newbie in this I started without a decent plan, just go with the flow and see where it takes me. I soon learned that the big wooden plates with all the pieces in them would drop the pieces when pressing too hard making it a treasure hunt for me to find the right piece.

After a while I got the hang of it and finished my first big part of the gun which contained most of the springs and parts which made the AK-47 functional. Pretty cool seeing it shoot rubber bands from a part which I just spend 2 hours on building it.

I continued the next day (day 2) and worked for another 3,5 / 4 hours on it and finished part after part which, in parts, made it look increasingly like an AK-47.

With the last finishing touches and joy of seeing my first build come to an end I pieced the last parts together. With only a small crack in one of the less significant wooden pieces which was on the inside of the AK-47 I can say I was happy with the result.

The package came with a couple of wooden soldiers. Two of them have died before being able to ever shoot a rubber band at them. The wooden legs which had to be pressed in the stand were too fragile and broke off, sad but I gave both a well-deserved army funeral.

I’m pretty sure I’ll do another build; guess it will be another gun as decoration for our game room. Shotgun maybe?

This one is so cool. I made this one for the son of a friend. He loves everything that has to do with the army. I would choose the tommy gun myself.

Oh wow! Welcome to the club and nice job there! Thank you for the detailed follow-up of your story and build of this amazing weapon.

For weapons there are a few choices, but I’d go for the shotgun for sure! Unless you want to build the whole “pack”, in which case I’d go for the “leave best for last motto” and maybe go from smaller weapon to bigger so it’ll also come with a bigger sense of satisfaction?
