👍 [Beginner Tips] How to Assemble Your DIY Miniature Box

A few people mentioned having trouble assembling the little boxes in their kits, so I thought I’d share my process! These are die-cut, so no cutting needed — it’s all about the folding and knowing where the glue goes. I’ve included a few photos to help. Hope this makes it a little easier!
Tools needed: Aleene’s Quick Dry Tacky Glue, tweezers

Step 1 — Pre-crease all score lines

Before anything else, fold every scored line completely flat — farther than the box will actually need. This makes the creases soft and pliable so everything folds cleanly later. Don’t skip this step!

Step 2 — Connect the side joint

Find the small half-circle tab on one side panel and slide it into the slot on the adjoining side panel. That slot has a larger tab next to it — apply your Aleene’s Quick Dry Tacky Glue there, press the pieces together, and hold for 30–60 seconds. This is what gives your box its four-sided structure, so take your time if it’s being fiddly!

Step 3 — Fold in the flaps

Following the order shown in your instruction manual, fold in the remaining flaps one by one.

Step 4 — Do a feel-check
Run your hands around the outside of the box and gently press to make sure everything feels solid and square. You’ll feel right away if something needs a little adjusting.

Step 5 — Done! :tada:

Your finished box!

You heard us! Thank you, Kim, for sharing this. Some of us do struggle with assembling the boxes, and a few don’t always have the patience to build them neatly (I’ll admit, that few includes me! Lol).

Step 0 should be “Take a deep breath and pray to the glue gods,” but your Step 1 is much more practical! :joy: Pre-creasing really is the secret to not ending up with a lopsided parallelogram instead of a box. This is going to save so many people from the dreaded “sticky tweezer” disaster. Great tutorial! :hammer_and_wrench::clinking_glasses:
