Hi! Just wanted to share my workflow for tackling more complex and challenging kits. Instead of hunting for tiny pieces one by one as I build each section (which feels so time-consuming), I like to pre-sort everything based on the instructions.
For example, if I’m building a miniature bed, I’ll gather and cut all the specific parts first: the blanket and pillow fabrics, the foam, the wood, even the wires, and place them in a separate container. I do this for multiple sections before I even start gluing or assembling!
Pre-sorting everything makes the actual building process so smooth and continuous. It completely elevates the fun because I don’t have to pause to search for lost or missing parts; everything is just ready.
These grid boxes are my current setup, but I’m actually eagerly waiting for my Rolife Treasure Tray to arrive. I’m so excited to try it out! Once it’s here, I’ll definitely share a follow-up on how I use it for my builds.
I love how organized your workflow is! Pre-sorting everything like that must save so much time once you start assembling. I usually keep the pieces on their boards until I need them because I’m always worried about losing the tiny ones. But I can definitely see how your method makes the building process flow much more smoothly. I’m looking forward to hearing what you think of the Rolife Treasure Tray once it arrives! Thank you for sharing!
@micromagic16 that is some serious prep work! I’m impressed because I have never done that. But I can appreciate the effort and know how it would make the assembly so much easier. I normally just separate the small parts in a bin to keep them separate based on the bag they came in or similarity of items.
As a beginner, this tip makes building so much smoother! It’s way more fun to build non-stop when everything is prepped and safe from getting lost. Love how perfectly organized your pieces are. Amazing job! Thank you for sharing your tip.
Thank you so much Pre-sorting takes a bit of extra time at first, but it really makes the actual assembly feel so smooth and therapeutic. I’ll definitely post an update about the Rolife Treasure Tray as soon as it arrives
That’s so awesome to hear! Glad to know they really help keep everything neat and tidy. I love being organized too, it definitely makes the whole crafting process way less chaotic
Thank you so much! I totally agree, there’s just something incredibly satisfying and relaxing about seeing all the pieces perfectly laid out before diving in
Thank you so much! Sorting them by similarity or keeping them in bins like you do is honestly a great method too! Doing it this way just helps me get into the zone, but at the end of the day, as long as it makes the assembly easier for you, that’s what matters most
Hmmm…well, that’s interesting. I must have missed that winner’s announcement. They had some pretty tough standards to meet for those. (according to the original post)
Yes, those standards are tough. I actually looked around for an announcement post too, but it seems they didn’t put one up. They just reached out to me directly via DM.
I recall it saying something about 8 of your invites had to visit for at least 3 days, yet all of your invites seem to have come at the very end of June. That is why I was bit confused. Oh well. Maybe they just decided to do a random drawing.
