[Beginner Tips] Anybody experienced with replacing the battery pack with a PowerBank

I have build a couple of BookNooks and I find the battery life a bit on the short side. I tried to connect an AAA battery eliminator that supposedly put out 1.5V per battery and connect this with a Power Bank but the result was that the light bulb blew out and is now broken (Rolife kindly tries to help me out with a new electric system). Have any of you experience with connecting a power bank to a book nook?

I haven’t tried it myself, but too much voltage can burn out the light bulb. You should check the voltage before doing this.

Welcome!! I haven’t heard of a power bank being used. But it’s actually a good idea!

@ClausPejtersen welcome to the community, and sorry the light bulb blew during your power bank experiment. For kit lighting, it is safest to match the original battery voltage and polarity exactly, since even a small mismatch can damage the LEDs. Your question is a really useful one for builders who display book nooks long-term.

I have 5 book nooks that have the battery replacement packs in them. this is one of them that I use. Amazon.com : Lenink AC Power Supply Adapter for AAA Battery,Replace 2 AAA Battery,Black : Electronics

when I turn them on, they are usually on for a good 12 hours straight.
