Back to the nightmare (not rokr)

So… after finishing up my blooming bouquet, I decided to spend a couple more days on the Nemesis of my models. I have come down to doing the tires and the last few rubber bands on the bottom that work the motor. There are three sizes included and I need most of the medium sized ones for the tires. It seems that I have an overload of the larger ones and not enough medium-sized ones. This one will go back into the box again until I can find the proper size of rubber bands. I took part of the day to organize all my painting stuff. It turns out that I have about 60 bottles of acrylic paints and about 120 markers which I RARELY use… for several reasons. They are either too thick or they don’t cover well enough or they don’t match the rest of my color scheme. Wasted money in my opinion. They are always here if I ever find a use for them

I just ordered some more metallic acrylic paint especially gold and silver because k use a lot of them. But a marker version is easier to use and apply.

I do use quite a bit of both colors as well. I do multiple coats…but it is SO much cheaper…although the pens look more shiny. @Tricia12

I had a look at the price and yes it is a lot cheaper. I am preparing the colours for the pinball machine in the next couple of months. There is no way the markers that I have got will be enough. And I don’t want to run out in the middle of building.

Wow, you have so many colors!

Buying stuff thinking they’d work well just to realize that you basically got scammed is not for the weak :sob: but maybe you can find a use for them someday?

Good idea! You definitely do not want to run out and there is a lot of space to cover on that one @Tricia12 Gold actually covers VERY well. I always do two…just for more sheen.

I just love color..and use a LOT of it.

I love the gold so I tend to use it in almost every single build.

I also have several markers lying around. I usually buy my stuff online so I won’t really know if they’re good until they arrive. Good thing my daughter loves to draw and color, so I let her use those I don’t like

Wow! You have a lot of coloring sets. :open_mouth:

I’ve been trying to decide whether I want to invest in acrylic markers or just normal paint… I have a few builds I think I’ll want to paint when the time comes, like the magic piano, harp, and all the amusement park rides. I’m still a little too scared to commit to painting a full build at the moment though! :joy::joy:

Yes…so true. You can’t tell how good they are buy looking at a picture of them before buying.

You absolutely can NOT tell what you are getting…even with some of the pricier sets…like Staedtler

Haha, this build is a real nightmare for you. It’s a shame you don’t have enough elastic rings. But every cloud has a silver lining… you finally managed to pick out your paint again!

True…I think I am just going to spin the wheel after a couple of days on the pinball machine…now that I have all of my paints and markers in order. @Liset

TOO many! Wasted money, honestly. If you can’t try them out to see the thickness of the line or color…They are usually not worth the money spent.

I can relate since I have a lot of paintbrushes and watercolor that I don’t usually use. It’s okay. Maybe one day, you will use them on your next project.

I agree. Maybe someday they WILL come in handy. I’ve never tried watercolors, though. I think one time I had one of those very cheap sets (like you get at the dollar store) and I did a couple of things for Christmas cards. I wasn’t a fan of them for modeling though.

I’m only using watercolors on papers since they are not suitable on woods. I also used acrylic paint on woods since they’re made for that. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: I only have maybe 30 acrylic since I gave some away.
