Your story is deeply moving and beautifully told.
The image of you building the Owl Clock during such a difficult and emotional time really captures the comforting power of creativity. It’s amazing how something as simple as assembling pieces can bring peace and meaning when words fall short. The Owl Clock truly became more than just a model, it became a companion through those quiet, heavy days. Thank you for sharing such a heartfelt memory with us.
That is such a sweet story!
What a thoughtful anniversary gift, and it sounds like it sparked a wonderful new passion. Sam’s Study is such a charming first kit, and it’s amazing how you’ve made each one your own with custom touches. The way you describe that satisfying moment when everything fits perfectly together is something every crafter can relate to.

Hi @Sander , welcome to the Robotime Community! ![]()
That’s such a wonderful journey to read about.
The Luminous Globe is a fantastic choice to start with, and it’s amazing how that first experience led to so many more creations. It’s beautiful how these models bring a sense of calm and focus
My first Rolife kit was Becka’s Baking House. I didn’t realize there were different lines, so I accidentally ordered it thinking I was getting two Super Creator kits. Zero regrets though — I spent way too many nights cutting tiny bread slices and pretending I was good at wiring lights.
It’s listed as ★★☆☆☆ but it definitely humbled me. I built the Leisurely Cheers Bar next, and by the end I was fully hooked. It’s been five weeks and I’m already on kit number five.
What started as a random buy somehow turned into a full-on hobby. My shelves basically look like a small Rolife neighborhood now.

Oh I did a goof, sorry! Thank you for moving the post too, you guys truly are the best! ![]()
The first one always brings memories of Fun and problem solving.
While it was an easy build, it required changing the direction of movement from the circular of the music box to the vertical needed to move his arm.
It was this requirement of problem solving skills that made me fall in love with these wood kits.
WoW !!
My sis just started Beckas. Lots of cutting and gluing but going well so far. I am hooked as well. Have completed 4 and when I get home will be starting on number 5!
I bought my very first rolife kit at a department store called oh some in jakarta, and it was the romantic carousel. the reason I bought it was actually quite simple, it was on a 50% discount so I thought, “why not give it a try?” even though I wasn’t really good at crafting, I wanted to try something new.
I still remember that day clearly, I started assembling it right after I got home and ended up spending about five hours working on it until dawn. Time flew so fast while I was building it hahaha, of course my first build wasn’t perfect, some parts broke and I even missed a few steps because I wasn’t paying close attention to the instructions, but when I finally finished it and saw that the carousel worked properly and played music beautifully, I felt so happy and proud.
That satisfying feeling made me fall in love with crafting. Because of that first kit, I started buying more crafting-related products like lego and similar diy sets. Who would’ve thought that a random purchase just because of a discount would turn into such a fun and fulfilling hobby?
Now I already have 18 rolife kits at home and my collection will keep growing in the future
. What I love most is that rolife kits are not just for display, some can move or even play music, making them really special and interactive.
Anyway, thank you rolife for helping me discover this wonderful hobby. I never thought I’d enjoy crafting this much hahaha ![]()

That’s such a beautiful story. It’s amazing how a small moment of curiosity turned into a fulfilling creative journey. The Romantic Carousel sounds like the perfect start, and even though the first build had its challenges, your dedication and joy shine through. The way that first kit led you to explore more and grow your collection to 18 sets shows how meaningful this hobby has become for you. It’s truly inspiring to read how crafting has brought you happiness and calm.
Looking forward to seeing more creations from you ![]()
My first ROKR was the Garden House Book Nook - I fell in love with the concept of having a tiny world amongst my world of books in my bookcase. It was a way to bring more life and personality to the space. The Garden House reminded me of my late great-grandmothers garden shed where I have so many wonderful memories as a child growing up helping her and learning from her. I’ve since filled my book shelf with various book nooks and mini houses. ![]()
