This is the second model I’ve customized. Actually, Robotime gave me this idea. Perhaps few people know that this model has two versions. The first version, released quite a while ago, had a rotating sun frame at the back. You could then see the orange sun dot rise and fall. But later, that version was remade, and for some reason, the manufacturer removed that effect.
When I bought it, I was quite surprised because I really liked the movement. At first, I didn’t believe it, but after watching many videos on YouTube, I found that older videos of models had that effect.
Because I’d seen so many of them, I was determined to make my own thing spin. So I decided to drill holes and attach a motor to the sun-shaped ring. Initially, it was a bit difficult because I had to make sure the motor was properly positioned. If it was off-center, the ring wouldn’t be straight and the rotation would hit other things.
But in the end, the result was well worth it. Please pay attention to the sun part when you watch! (from 1’00)
WOW! That’s pretty cool!
Thank you so much. The feeling of watching them spin as desired is truly blissful.
That is so beautiful ![]()
Thanks you
Oh my goodness I love the sun! I didn’t even know there were two versions I wonder why they took it out. ![]()
So cool! I didn’t know that there were two versions. Thank you for sharing this.
Omg! This is really awesome. You’re very intelligent.
How did you do that? Just wow.
I was just like you until a friend who sells models told me.
You’re welcome. I was just like you until a friend who sells models told me…
Connect the inner panel to the motor, and drill holes to attach the motor to the back panel.
This is such a brilliant idea, and the result is amazing! ![]()
Bringing back the rotating sun was such a smart and creative move, and the effort really paid off.
That is such a beautiful kit. I love it.
Thank you. I’m glad everyone liked it.
